Job Summary of the Credit Union Member Services Rep / Bank Teller

The Member Services Representative is responsible for providing exceptional support to credit union members, handling daily transactions, resolving account issues, and promoting financial products and services. This role ensures accurate processing, regulatory compliance, and a high standard of service while maintaining strict confidentiality.  Bilingual English/Spanish required.

Responsibilities of the Credit Union Member Services Rep / Bank Teller: 

  • Assist members with account inquiries, transactions, account openings/closings, service requests, and issue resolution.
  • Promote products and services that meet member needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and regulations; safeguard member information.
  • Provide backup support for teller functions, including balancing cash drawers and processing payments.
  • Maintain organized records, support office operations, and participate in team meetings and training.
  • Represent the credit union at selected community events.
  • Occasional travel (approx. 10%).

Job Requirements

Qualifications of the Credit Union Member Services Rep / Bank Teller: 

  • Organized, adaptable, customer-focused, and able to work independently.
  • Bilingual: Ability to read, write, and speak the English and Spanish languages REQUIRED
  • 2+ years of credit union, banking, or customer service experience
  • Strong communication, analytical ability, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; able to learn credit union software.
  • Excellent customer service skills and comfort working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Willingness to submit to a series of criminal background checks 
  • High school diploma or GED required.
