Overview of the Production Planner position:

A growing manufacturing organization is seeking a Production Planning & Inventory Coordinator to support supply chain operations for one of its production facilities in Tennessee. This role is responsible for balancing customer demand, production capacity, inventory levels, and material availability to ensure products are delivered on time while maintaining efficient inventory performance.

Key Responsibilities for the Production Planner position:

• Develop and maintain production schedules to support customer demand and operational goals.
• Coordinate material availability and supplier deliveries to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
• Monitor inventory levels, analyze planning data, and make adjustments to support service and inventory objectives.
• Collaborate with operations, logistics, procurement, customer service, and product teams to resolve supply challenges.
• Track production performance and identify opportunities to improve planning accuracy and efficiency.
• Support inventory management initiatives, product transitions, and continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications for the Production Planner position:

• 3+ years of experience in production planning, materials management, purchasing, supply chain, or inventory control.
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment required.
• Strong ERP/MRP system experience; SAP experience is highly desirable.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education.

Preferred Skills for the Production Planner:

• APICS, CPIM, CPSM, or related supply chain certifications are a plus.
• Experience analyzing demand trends, inventory performance, and operational metrics.
• Ability to identify process improvements and drive operational efficiencies.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently as well as with cross-functional teams.
