Project Manager Position Overview


A respected construction firm specializing in industrial infrastructure is seeking a Project Manager to oversee multiple construction projects across the Mid-Atlantic region. This role is based in Lancaster, PA, with travel to job sites in Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware approximately 1–2 days per week. A company vehicle, gas card, laptop, and cell phone are provided.

The Project Manager will be responsible for organizing, directing, and analyzing all aspects of construction projects ranging from $500K to $20MM in size. This includes procurement, subcontractor coordination, financial reporting, and schedule management. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with strong leadership and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities for the Project Manager include:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Negotiate and manage purchase orders and subcontracts.
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials with on-site Superintendents.
  • Plan construction operations and schedule phases to meet deadlines.
  • Acquire necessary equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Estimate and negotiate change orders with owners and engineers.
  • Prepare and present monthly job cost reports and forecasts.
  • Maintain and update project schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Analyze key performance metrics and provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards and report any issues.

Job Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications for the Project Manager include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and project management principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft ProjectExcel (including formulas and pivot tables), and other MS Office tools.
  • Familiarity with project management software and documentation (e.g., submittals, RFIs, change orders).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when needed.

Performance Metrics for the Project Manager:

  • Timely and accurate preparation of monthly job cost reports.
  • Development of quarterly billing budgets and forecasts.
  • Identification and reporting of budget variances.
  • On-time project completion within or under budget.
  • Positive representation of the company through professional project management.

Schedule:

  • 8–10 hour shifts, Monday to Friday
  • Based in Lancaster, PA (required)
