Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced part-time Full-Service Bookkeeper to join our Lancaster client's team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, experience with Sage 100 accounting software (preferred), and familiarity with contracting industries such as water treatment, plumbing, or HVAC.  This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity!

Responsibilities for the Bookkeeper include:

  • Invoicing and Billing: Generate and manage invoices to ensure accuracy and timely distribution to clients.
  • Accounts Receivable and Payable: Track and process incoming payments and outgoing expenses, ensuring accurate records and timely processing.
  • Financial Posting: Post transactions and maintain accurate records for monthly financial statements.
  • State Tax Payments: Prepare and process state tax payments in compliance with deadlines.
  • Remote Bank Deposits: Handle remote deposits to ensure secure and accurate transactions.
  • Spreadsheet Management: Create, update, and maintain Excel spreadsheets for tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Employee Payroll: Submit bi-weekly payroll information accurately and on time.
  • Records Management: Maintain and file physical and digital records, ensuring easy access and organization.
  • Administrative Support: Occasionally assist with answering phones and other general office duties as needed.

Job Requirements

Qualifications for the Bookkeeper include:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with accounting software, specifically Sage 100, is a strong plus.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and financial processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and general spreadsheet management.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Comfortable working in a hybrid environment with flexible hours.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
