Job Description

The Escrow Disbursements Clerk is responsible for the accurate and timely administration of escrow-related payments for mortgage accounts. This role ensures property taxes, insurance premiums, and private mortgage insurance (PMI) are paid in accordance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, customer service skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal partners across the bank.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the Disbursements Clerk:

  1. Process escrow disbursements including property taxes, homeowner’s insurance, and private mortgage insurance (PMI) payments
  2. Review and resolve reports of past-due or unpaid escrow items to ensure borrower accounts remain current
  3. Perform and review mass escrow analyses to identify payment discrepancies and ensure escrow balance accuracy
  4. Respond to inquiries from internal partners and customers regarding escrow accounts, payment status, and analysis results
  5. Research and resolve escrow-related discrepancies and exceptions in a timely and accurate manner
  6. Assist with system conversions, portfolio transfers, and other bank conversion initiatives impacting escrow accounts
  7. Maintain compliance with bank policies, investor guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements
  8. Document activity and maintain accurate records in accordance with audit and compliance standards

Job Requirements

Required Skills & Qualifications for the Disbursements Clerks:

  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  2. 1+ years of administrative, clerical or similar experience
  3. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  4. Effective written and verbal communication skills
  5. Ability to analyze reports, identify issues, and recommend or execute resolutions
  6. High school diploma or equivalent
  7. Willingness to submit to a pre-employment criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications of the Disbursements Specialist:

  1. Previous banking experience
  2. Mortgage servicing or escrow experience preferred
  3. Familiarity with escrow analysis, tax service providers, and insurance tracking systems
  4. Experience supporting system conversions or operational transition
