Key Responsibilities for the Accounts Payable Analyst include:

  • Manage accounts payable using accounting software.
  • Process transactions and perform a range of accounting duties.
  • Ensure timely and accurate bill payments to vendors.
  • Reconcile accounts payable ledger and resolve discrepancies.
  • Investigate discrepancies by reconciling vendor accounts and identifying errors.
  • Maintain positive vendor relationships to ensure smooth payment processes.
  • Generate and maintain accounts payable status reports.
  • Understand expense accounts and cost center allocations.
  • Ensure compliance with accounts payable policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Requirements and Skills for the Accounts Payable Analyst:

  • Previous experience as an Accounts Payable Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounts payable principles.
  • Ability to manage accounting figures and financial records with precision.
  • High attention to detail and data entry skills.
  • Proficient in spreadsheets and proprietary software.
  • Solid proficiency with MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in process improvement and finding ways to enhance efficiency.
  • Fraud risk mitigation skills and an understanding of internal controls.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Knowledge of compliance issues related to accounts payable.
