The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of management financial reporting for this reputable manufacturer. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role leads critical close-cycle activities, ensures high-quality financial outputs, and serves as a key driver of operational and system improvements within the accounting function.
This position plays a hands-on leadership role in managing month-end and year-end close, strengthening balance sheet discipline, and supporting SAP readiness. Success in this role requires strong technical accounting expertise, a continuous-improvement mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance, Operations, and IT.
Schedule: Full-Time, Hybrid schedule—three days on-site per week (Tuesday and Wednesday required), two days remote.

Financial Close Leadership & Management Reporting
- Lead the preparation and review of monthly and quarterly management financial results in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
- Coordinate close activities across the Finance team to ensure deadlines are met and outputs are accurate.
- Oversee preparation of the Management P&L, including reconciliation of short-term assets and liabilities.
- Partner with Operations to ensure proper accounting treatment for manufacturing and sourcing-related transactions.
- Proactively identify opportunities to accelerate close timelines and improve reconciliation quality.
Month-End Close Execution & Reconciliations
- Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries supporting monthly and annual close activity, including capitalization, consolidation, and inventory-related adjustments.
- Maintain oversight of inventory accounting, including tracking and analyzing inventory turnover.
- Perform and oversee add-back entries and reconciliations, ensuring transparency and compliance with reporting standards and bank agreements.
- Ensure short-term assets and liabilities are fully reconciled and discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly.
- Provide accurate financial data to internal partners for operational and analytical needs.
Regulatory Compliance & Audit Support
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and external accounting regulations.
- Serve as a key accounting contact for internal and external audits by preparing documentation and addressing audit inquiries.
- Actively monitor adherence to established financial procedures and control standards.
SAP Ownership & Financial Systems Support
- Act as Finance Administrator, SAP Key Controls Owner, and Chart of Accounts Master Data Owner.
- Review and certify trial balances prior to OneStream submissions.
- Coordinate with IT on SAP period maintenance, year-end rollovers, and system integrity.
- Drive system and process enhancements aimed at reducing manual work and improving data accuracy.
- Provide training, guidance, and troubleshooting support to Finance team members using SAP tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Coverage
- Work closely with Accounting, Finance, Operations, IT, and external auditors to ensure aligned financial outcomes.
- Serve as functional backup for the Senior Accountant (financial statements, cash, tax, insurance, external accounting) and the OneStream Administrator role.
- Maintain consistent attendance and reliable availability.
Required Qualifications for the Accounting Manager:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including direct ownership of month-end close required
- Demonstrated experience managing outstanding close items and driving close-process improvements required
- Strong proficiency in SAP required
- Advanced MS Excel skills required
- Deep understanding of general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliation required
- Willingness to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
