 Responsibilities for the Accountant include:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable and receivable.

  • Prepare and review budgets, monthly financial statements, and journal entries.

  • Lead the monthly close process for assigned entities and ensure accuracy in reporting.

  • Record real estate transactions such as purchases, predevelopment costs, and construction draws.

  • Conduct account analyses and maintain detailed financial documentation.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership on financial planning, audits, and compliance activities.

  • Manage fixed asset and depreciation schedules.

  • Review and approve bank reconciliations.

  • Ensure compliance with loan, grant, and financial reporting requirements.

  • Assist in preparing audit workpapers and materials for annual reporting.

  • Support process improvements and maintain accounting systems with external IT resources.

Job Requirements

Qualifications for the Accountant include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or business administration with concentration in accounting or
    Minimum of 5 years real estate development and/or affordable housing accounting and budget experience with a strong understanding of accounting policies and procedures
  •  
    Ability to work with and understand non- profit accounting
  •  
    Excellent computer skills in accounting software and excel
     

Preferred:

  • CPA or CPA candidate.

  • Prior auditing experience.
